Description:

Schachen is a boardless chess variant that captures the fascination of chess in a compact way. Without an opening, the game begins directly in confrontation. The familiar rules are expanded with a few additional rules.

At the beginning, each player has their king and four pawns. The cards with the remaining chess pieces form a pile, from which the player takes three into their hand. The player whose turn it is first moves a piece in play according to the classic rules, then they may add one of the cards in their hand to a card already in play.

The rule is: Pawns are placed next to pawns, and all other pieces are placed directly behind a pawn. The goal remains the same: checkmate the opponent's king!

Chess is suitable for casual players who find the playing time of chess too long, and chess players who are looking for a relaxed change after a few real chess games and still don't want to miss out on the familiar depth.
