Expansion Sour Lake

Sour Lake is a small expansion to the game "Black Gold"

After the initial oil rush subsided in Spindletop, prospects began to emerge in the surrounding area, including Sour Lake. However, morals there were even rougher than in Beaumont. Theft and murder were commonplace.

Sour Lake is placed next to the game board. The oil fields there are assigned a double roll, meaning a player can take action on a double roll either on the game board or at Sour Lake. Play proceeds normally there, with the following changes:

• Saloon: In Phase 2, if the player who placed a derrick on the saloon wants to score it, they must roll for each oil tile against another player. If the player rolls a higher number, they receive the tile; if they roll a lower number, the tile is returned to the supply. In the event of a tie, the game is repeated.
• Lake: The lake poses a flood risk for oil rigs. Anyone building on the central drilling site (-1 space) must roll the die for each oil tile lying on a lake property, in addition to the negative point. As soon as they roll a double, the tile and all other tiles still lying on lake properties are returned to the supply.
