Arkwright: Card game (GER/ENG)

The Industrial Revolution begins in 18th-century England. You open the first factories, which use machines to produce ever-increasing quantities of goods in four different types. By successfully selling goods in England, the value of your shares increases, and you (sometimes) make profits, allowing you to buy more shares of your company from the bank. Whoever owns the most valuable share package after three decades (rounds) wins the game.

Competition is fierce, and you must decide whether to maximize profits by reducing costs and exchanging workers for machines, or increase revenue by investing in the quality and sales of your goods. You must always be prepared for competitors to make their products increasingly cheaper to steal your market share. Sometimes the only option is to ship your surplus production overseas. While these risky shipping operations may slightly impact your share price, they promise enormous cash proceeds. Don't forget to develop your company with new technology and expand your options!

Every game is different because the various development cards offer different options. It may be advisable to adapt your strategy to the options, focusing on two factories and intensively developing them, or to use all four factories for flexibility. A predetermined starting lineup makes it easier to get started with your first game.
