Description

Caesar & Cleopatra

They kissed and they fought. Caesar wants to place Egypt entirely under Roman administration, but to do so he needs the consent of Rome's powerful patricians.
Cleopatra, on the other hand, wants to convince them that it would be better if Egypt remained largely independent. Through fighting, stabbing, trickery, and charm, the two rivals try to win as many influential people as possible to their cause.
Experience the Roman-Egyptian card drama and duck your head when the wrath of the gods erupts against the quarrelers! Both have the same cards, the only question is who uses them better.

The players decide who will side with Caesar and who with Cleopatra. Then, the patricians are placed in five groups among the players. Players receive 37 influence cards with values from 1 to 5. Each player also has two treacherous philosophers at their disposal, who can completely reverse a result.

Players place influence cards on the patrician groups to win over one of the patricians in a possible vote of confidence. If a vote of confidence is raised, the player with the greater influence wins the vote of a patrician. Each vote earns one victory point. Additional victory points are awarded for the majority in a patrician group, for influencing an entire group, and for winning a secret influence bonus. Players also have action cards that, if used effectively, can change the mind of a decisive patrician. For example, an "Attack" removes an opponent's influence card, a spy lets you look at the opponent's hand cards, and - if all else fails - the "Wrath of the Gods" sweeps away all influence cards from a patrician group - bad news for the opponent if they have placed particularly high-value influence cards there... Since both players have exactly the same action and influence cards, it's especially important to use your cards tactically cleverly - which sometimes requires a bit of luck.
