Description

The deputy sheriff makes his rounds. He meets the residents of various houses in town: Grandma is at the casino, Dynamite Joe is testing the bank vault, ...

Eventually, a robbery occurs. The victim names a witness in whose direction the bandit fled. The witness is questioned and names another witness...

The players' task is to help the deputy sheriff locate the various witnesses and ultimately catch the bandit. Who has the best memory? The resulting story should help jog their memory.

Old Town Robbery is a turbulent memory game for 2 to 7 players ages 8 and up.

The players take turns remembering which person is in which building. To help them remember the locations, they invent little stories about the residents, such as "Jam Dudel dances the polka in the saloon."

But every time the deputy sheriff passes the sheriff's building, a townsperson changes position ("Jam Dudel leaves the saloon and takes a room at the hotel"). Once all residents have found a building, the game moves on to the second phase. Here, the players must quickly find the right building by revealing their character cards.

Game material: 1 deputy sheriff figure, 18 buildings, 50 game chips, 1 large wooden die, 1 hat card, 34 person cards (2 sets of 17 cards each), 1 robbery card, 7 yes/no cards

www.ratgeberspiel.dewrites: "Overall, the game is a lot of fun, and the memory aids show how much you can actually remember. It becomes difficult in larger groups when you haven't thought of as many clues yourself or are confused by clues from previous games."

www.roachware.orgsays: "The game isn't just for memory fans, although they'll certainly have a lot of fun with it. It should appeal to both frequent and casual players alike, and is also suitable as a family game. The half-hour playing time stated on the box is also a good estimate."
