Four cards are placed in the center. Each player receives ten cards. In each round, players place one card of their choice face down on the table. The cards are all revealed simultaneously.

The order in which the cards are placed in the four rows is determined by the value of the card. First, the lowest card is placed, then the second lowest card, and so on. The cards are placed in the row where the last card in the row has the lowestdifferenceto the card being played. However, the last card in the row must be lower than the card being played. In other words: The card must be played in the row where the highest, even smaller, card is on top.

If you play a card that is lower than the lowest card in the four rows, you must take any row of cards (ideally the one with the fewest negative points (horned oxen). If your card is the sixth in the row, you must take that row and thus receive the negative points (horned oxen) in that row. You must take a row, your card remains as the first card in the new row.

The cards received are not taken back into your hand, so the game ends after ten rounds. The winner is the player who has received the fewest oxen.
