Habanero (GER/ENG)

The playing field represents a habanero plantation, which consists of 49 fields at the start. The campesinos have the task of harvesting as many habaneros as possible.

A turn proceeds as follows: The player rolls the dice and then moves any of the campesinos across the plantation, subject to the following rules:

The campesinos can only move horizontally or vertically.

- Each square on the plantation is one step (= one number on the dice), with both squares containing habaneros and empty squares (which appear during the game) counting.
- Other campesinos are obstacles; they cannot be jumped over.
- The number on the dice must be moved in its entirety.
- The campesinos may not leave the plantation.

➢If a campesino's movement ends on a field with a habanero, the player collects this habanero and places it in front of them.
➢If a campesino's movement ends on an empty field, the player must either discard one of the campesinos on the playing field (removed from the game)
or discard habaneros that have already been collected, in a number corresponding to the number of empty fields consisting of the target field and all adjacent empty fields (removed from the game). A field with a campesino does not count as an empty field.

The plantation consists of a rectangular grid at all times, even if individual habaneros in an outer row are already missing. If the last habanero in an outer row has been removed, the plantation is reduced by that row at that moment. The campesino that has just been used is now outside the plantation, which is allowed. He may subsequently re-enter the plantation, but may not leave it again. He may also not move outside the plantation.

➢If a campesino's move ends on a field with a habanero, the player collects this habanero and places it in front of them.
➢If a campesino's move ends on an empty field, the player must either
discard one of the campesinos on the playing field (removed from the game).

The game ends when either the player decides to stop rolling the dice and end the game, or no campesino can be moved according to the rules.
