An "Einstein tile" (or Einstein Kachel) is a shape that covers a surface without any gaps, but creates a pattern that never repeats. The name comes from the German phrase "ein Stein" (one stone). It plays on the idea of using just one single shape to tile forever.

Tiles can be arranged in various ways to create a landscape without holes, comibing front (grassland) and back (blank), but not type 2.
