The Catan expansion released in 2013 is all about discovery!

Sent out by the Catan Council, you set off for unknown lands to establish new establish new bases. There is vague information about dangerous dangerous pirate nests, rich fishing grounds and helpful native villages waiting for you over the horizon.

That sound like a lot of content? It is. However, you need have no have any worries, as the “Explorers & Pirates” expansion has a modular is modular. In the first scenario, the introductory game, you are first familiarized with the basic rules before you can then gradually the other scenarios with the previously described missions. From then on, you can choose which scenario or scenarios which you would prefer to play. Once you have played the first four scenarios, you can play the fifth scenario, which bears the name of the of the expansion, you can fulfill all 3 of the previously described at the same time. You then play on the largest possible playing area to 17 victory points. This scenario for experienced Catan fans can easily turn an entire whole evening into an exciting experience.
